If there's any issue we can find Common Ground on, it's "Energy"...aside from the ever increasing
evidence of Global Warming/Climate Change due to the burning of Fossil Fuels, it is critical that we shift to Nuclear Power for true 'Energy Independence, along with judicious use of Solar and Wind Power where 'Variability' is not a problem. As posted before, the U.S. has approximately 49 Bbls of Proven Oil Reserves, but a yearly consumption rate of 7.4 Bbls, which leaves us with only 6.4 years before depletion...and ~100 Mbls of that consumption goes to our Military, so this is truly a National Security issue.
Even if we were lucky enough to Triple that amount overnight, we clearly still have a MAJOR problem with heat and power for the future...i.e. the very near future fo our kids and all those to follow. btw, it has also been posted before that 'Fracking' is "Peaking"...it was great for a few years, but no longer...and any new drilling won't give us the long term security we need.
Trump's "Drill, Baby, Drill" strategy is Suicidal for America...we need to use only enough O&G to bridge the gap in time to when sufficient numbers of NP Plants are in place to meet the needs for Heat and Power demands...estimated to be in the 2050 time frame.
"Energy" is a non-partisan issue...let's face facts and get TOGETHER to ensure the futures of ALL Americans.

I am completely on board with you that we need many more nuclear power plants yesterday.
I've already posted the explanation for the differences...even gave you a chart...Consumption and
Resource findings VARY each and every year...therefore DIFFERENT estimates...but the range of estimates is in the same order of magnitude...e.g. 5yrs to 8yrs, which makes any change a true "Difference Without Distinction"....i.e. we have a SERIOUS PROBLEM...RIGHT NOW...Got It?
Both levers need to be pulled.
I've been clear on my full support for a Nuclear Power blitz in every sector possible. There is no modern future without it. But we cannot stop producing Fossil Fuel sources now and ride it out to that time - the gap is WAY too big.
We need to do both. And fast.

communicated that vision...just "Drill, Baby, Drill". Again...we need to "Accelerate" our use of NP, and Renewables - Where Appropriate, Given Their Inherent Variability...and "Decelerate" the use of Fossil Fuels (Not Eliminate) as we Transition. I'm sure you agree that we NEED FFs for all the myriad uses outside heat and power we depend on...i.e. we need to "Husband" those resources for the future. It takes tens, if not hundreds, of millions of years to 'replenish' them.
btw, Baron's link acknowledges Biden's opening of leases in the Gulf and portions of Alaska's reserves. He and his administration are keenly aware of the situation.
Those countries paid the Biden family good money for that policy.
