This is the Ugly America Trump has tapped into. Empathy, Decency, and Truth are all casualties.
COVID landed ashore in early 2020. Trump, throughly unprepared for the pandemic, denied its existence, then attacked the scientists, and politicized the nation’s attempts to mitigate the pandemic— masks, vaccinations, etc. The MAGA crew on this Board hopped aboard. And a dedicated servant, Dr. Fauci, became the scapegoat.
Then we had the George Floyd murder that summer. The same haters asserted that Floyd had it coming, that he died because he didn’t submit. The subsequent Black Lives Matter marches, joined by decent people across the globe, were attacked as “militant criminal gangs” by the same posters. Rather than coming together as a nation, Trump flashed the “law and order” bat signal, flaming the division. “They’re coming for you” became their mantra.
These same posters celebrated teenager Kyle Rittehouse killing two protesters in Wisconsin.
As the 2020 election approached amidst a pandemic, maintaining power at all costs led to attacking mail in voting as fraudulent. Losing the election turned into January 6th, led by Trump’s knowingly false narrative that the election was rigged.
Reasonable Americans, so ashamed of the ugliness that occurred on January 6th, assumed that would be the end of MAGA. But no. We’re sending him back.
So, it comes as no surprise that the same Americans, the same posters, politicize what happened in New Orleans two weeks ago, and what is happening in Los Angeles, with zero compassion or empathy.
They just throw stones, following Trump’s lead, but more fundamentally, because they are shallow people at their core.
Your "dedicated servant," the Great Fauchino, is directly responsible for 500,000 Covid deaths
Because his flawed PERSONAL medical philosophy made him blind to the fact that hydroxychloroquine/zinc/ azithromycin would have saved these lives.
Not to mention his involvement in funding the Wuhan lab from which the Covid vaccine leaked led to this disaster in the first place.

No amount of preparation could have averted this apocalypse.
Yet fingers must be pointed by both sides to determine preparedness and response moving forward.

Thank you, my friend. Have you read the book Five Days at Memorial? It is about Katrina and the Hospital that was in the midst of it all. After telling the horrific story it concludes with an excellent analysis of our preparedness and response.
In a nutshell, Committees are established to evaluate what went wrong and then issue recommendations for future calamities which merely collect dust.
Speaking of Preparedness and Ned's comment about COVID...what do you think about DJT's refusal to
abide by the "Pandemic Preparedness Plan" left for him by the Obama administration...which included a recommendation to replenish Emergency Stores for N95/KN95 masks as well as Ventilators, coordinated testing, etc?...he had 3 years to become prepared for what was predicted...didn't lift a finger. Do you think he should be held responsible for many of the early deaths?

That's not true...and I can back it up (see link)...what is true is that Trump did NOTHING to fill
the National Stockpile...or follow any of the recommendations for Obama's "Pandemic Preparedness Plan" which his administration worked hard to produce for future Presidents'...and the nation's citizens'...benefit. Just one more example of how despicable Donald Trump is...and why he needs to be held accountable for the illness and death of far too many Americans during the COVID-19 Pandemic. What's more, DJT refused to provide any states with the supplies that were in the Medical National Stockpile, like Masks and Ventilators...forcing them to battle each other in the market place for scarce resources.
When are you going to learn the value of research before posting?...do you enjoy being proven wrong all the time?...is this some kind of "Masochism" with you?

Just read some excerpts of Zuckerberg talking about how the Bidens were trying to get Facebook to censor admittedly true facts, to keep the people misinformed. Covid was politicized in a pretty evil way. Thought maybe that was what you were talking about.

Now, the area with the highest concentration of those people supporting that liberal Adm are now in need, and being liberals, they can’t see why they wouldn’t be treated differently than they treated others (Liberalism Rule #2).
Still, Jesus calls us to be better than that, so I agree with you that we should not exact an eye for an eye. But that does not affect our knowing that most liberals will still do it again to us when they can, and then claim that it’s “Totally Different” (Rules of Liberalism #8).

The FEMA event is one of the things (along with the self created fire disaster d/t liberal policy) that is fresh in the minds of those experiencing schadenfreude with this situation.
We are called to be better, and we must be.

The last election turned largely on pocketbook issues caused by Dem over-spendng and over-regulating on their own crazy agendas.
This FEELS like more of the same.
This disaster is about Climate Change and the need for everyone to join together and deal with it.
As for politics, having a Climate-Denying Party in charge would only exacerbate the problems facing us.
The L.A. Basin...and nearly the entire Southwest (i.e. Colorado River states)...has experienced decreasing rainfall since the start of the 20th century. More recently, L.A. has seen short bursts of high rainfall that caused rapid growth of chaparral in the hills, followed by this past year's drought (only 16% of normal rainfall) accompanied by higher than normal Santa Ana winds...a recipe for this disaster...and nothing to do with Liberal vs Conservative Social Politics.
Note that Southern California depends on the Colorado River for 60% of its water...and as mentioned, that source is under GREAT stress...just ask the residents of Arizona and Las Vegas.
The issue is Climate Change...let's all get together on this 'Common Ground' problem.
