Don't feel so bad about not finishing a book.

You ain't alone.

I have read three books on this list (A brief History of Time, Thinking Fast and Slow, and The Great Gatsby). I finished them all but thought A Brief History of Time was awful. Very poorly written, basically incomprehensible to the lay reader. Thinking Fast and Slow was interesting but far too long. He could have cut by 66% and still gotten the message across. Have read The Great Gatsby several times...no issues.

Personally, I don't have a problem with putting a book aside. Most recently did so with T.E. Lawrence's (Lawrence of Arabia) memoir, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Life's too short to get bogged down in stuff you find boring.

A great book can be opened to any page at any time.

That's not true with Hustler Magazine though.

No one has ever read Atlas Shrugged cover-to-cover.

The Fountainhead was more than enough for me, lol.

She was an exceptionally poor fiction writer.

Oddly, her non-fiction was more engaging.

She was a very demented person and probable sociopath.

Thinking Fast and Slow is excruciatingly long for the subject matter.
