What is missing in California's current fire fighting?

For wildfire like current one in California, you always need both air attack and ground game.

You use fire fight planes to attack the fire at first and then use firefighters on the ground to finish the job.

Enough said about the ground game. Poor water management limited fire fighters' ground game as we've known, "completely dry" situation.

So, air attacking is becoming more important. But California doesn't have the most advanced fire fighting plane. (Canadian CL-415, currently used, is a very good fire fighting plane, but it is still small for large California wildfire). Why?

Because the US has sanctioned the best fire fighting plane in the world.

You don’t think they use air assets to fight fires?…

That’s just a stupid assumption.

When Santa Ana winds are blowing 70-100 mph, air assets are grounded. Also when winds are at gale force speeds, it doesn’t matter how many fire fighters / air assets you have, shit will burn and burn fast.

Are they electric, and have the pilots been made properly diverse?

Just put out the fires while the winds have died down.

Seriously…the Santa Ana winds aren’t to be fucked with. There’s nothing you can do when it’s blowing at 70-100 miles an hour and those were the conditions.

natural disaster, I’ll leave it up to you to ensure that the first responders aren’t DEI hires. Hopefully your house will be ok during your DEI inspection.

…I want the best people hired based on merit …and I don’t care what their characteristics are.

You care about characteristics first over merit.

Its not surprising though. I’m a merit guy, while you are not.

When I responded to your stupid comment about “electric planes and diverse pilots”…I took your comment as nothing more than a feeble attempt at politicizing this tragedy, which you and your ilk are very good at.

Of course everyone would prefer that a pilot and a first responder are hired because of their qualifications. Can you prove that the LAFD and other California fire depts don’t hire the best they can get? Of course you can’t, because you just make shit up to fit your binary political narrative. Sad way to live.

You are a dumb piece of shit who thinks he/she has a valid remedy. Stay in your Chicom lane. You don’t know what you’re talking about and you’ve still failed to address the gale force Santa Ana winds… I highly doubt your Russian pieces of shit could safely fly in 70-100 mph winds at 100-300 above the ground.

, especially considering CA politicians don't want to build more reservoirs and bring more water to southern CA and coastal CA. Then the only way is you need large planes to scoop water from sea nearby to fight wild fire.

The best fire fighting plane in the world.

Effective, affordable and proven. It was used to battle forest fires not just in Russia, but also Turkey, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Indonesia and Israel.

Salt water is only used as a last resort.

their equipments. So, the first issue from your link is non-existent in thus case. The 2nd issue is environmental concern. I would say we need further investigation on long term effect of salt water. Nature is pretty resilient. Also, it worth using salt water if the wild fire is at very beginning stage, but the wind speed is at 60 mile. The jet- powered airplane, even with salt water, is the most effective in this situation to control fire.

If winds are blowing over 50 mph, planes and helicopters are grounded. If you knew anything about aeronautics, you’d know that the payloads the aircraft carries makes the planes less stable on top of the fact that they have to fly at 100 feet in order to drop fire retardant and or water. You’re stupid as fuck and a disgrace: how the fuck did you get through immigration?
