When I served, some of our upper enlisted and field grade officers were Vietnam vets. I considered them all “real life super heroes.” They were hard on us for a reason. It took a while, but everyone that gave a shit appreciated them. They saw and experienced shit that’s impossible to comprehend.

make an effort in reconnecting some of the guys. They’ve also included some troops that were taped back then. Other than that, it’s an a-political documentary. They touch on the social impact, racial impact, and personal impact of combat. I’m not all the way through, but I’ve enjoyed it thus far. There’s a lot of the video footage I’ve never seen and I’ve watched a lot of Vietnam footage.
