a Pareto Diagram...if he thinks USAID is a problem...just take a look at the O&G Industry...surely he can find some savings there, and not have to sacrifice the health and lives of fellow Planet Earth inhabitants elsewhere.

...from the attached article...
-----------------------
March 8 - U.S. President Joe Biden will propose a budget that would scrap oil and gas industry subsidies, according to a document seen by Reuters, reviving a perennial debate about whether fossil fuel companies should be receiving lucrative tax breaks.

While the proposal has little chance of making it through a divided Congress, it represents a political signal from the White House, which has repeatedly criticized Big Oil for raking in record profits at a time of high consumer energy costs since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Please do yourself, and the rest of us, a favor...research the "Null Hypothesis" before posting.

They answer your question...i.e. the 1st details how egregious the O&G subsidies are, and the 2nd

clearly shows that Biden wanted to STOP them...NOT continue them...as you erroneously...and un-informedly asserted.

Once again...all you had to do was a simple Internet search with keywords "Biden" and "Oil Subsidies" to check if your assumption was correct...it wasn't...and now you have egg on your face ;-(.

He didn't stop them. Are you suggesting Elon can get done what Joe couldn't?

Oh Boy...we are (hopefully will be) a democratic nation...there are laws, rules...and votes. Biden

...as the second article explains...was unable to secure the votes to stop the subsidies. A President is not a King...this country was formed in a way that would not allow a King, or Autocrat, to have such power. If I have to go further on this Civics lesson, it is a fools errand...or you're just being obstinate...either way, that's enough.

Your OP indicated that Elon should eliminate O&G subsidies.

Now you're arguing that he can't.

Good talk, Tyrone.

significant cost savings...like O&G Subsidies...and make RECOMMENDATIONS for CONGRESS to ACT on...i.e. Reduce them if not Stop them...some day, since the current budget from Congress is already approved. We are now facing the use of Presidential Impoundments...let's let the lawyers and courts sort that out.

Please...Question yourself more...Research more...i.e. make SURE you're right...before posting...since you're going to have to defend that statement.

P.S. I suspect your background is technical, like mine...and as such, you need to actually prove things to others more senior, before they get implemented I'm hoping you'll apply that same ethos and skill to these political challenges as well. I also appreciate your willingness to share personal info...I really wish you well.

Finally, this is an internet forum...certainly for enjoyment, but also an opportunity to learn from others...if we can respectfully dialogue with honesty and University Level arguments.

No that would be you guys. Shouldn’t all major government contractors be targeted for cuts?

Why should they be special? Who is looking at them? You see no inherent conflict of interest in a major contractor who has made over 18 billion from the taxpayer deciding what is efficient, worthy of expenditure and what is not?
