Among other things of course, but defense shouldn't be a sacred cow.

Still remember the look on that lady COVID advisor when he was talking about the bleach cure.

Granted, China would just reclassify half of its military as a civil service agency.

Personal opinions, of course. Feel free to critique.
His SpaceX rockets are 1/10 the cost of NASAs, for example.
I know it’s not popular amongst you Trumpers, but the military is the most formidable than it has ever been. Space X has made some amazing gains, but it’s a far cry from gutting the entire military. Stay in your lane

More than a new aircraft carrier group, we need modern, fast, stealthy drones, not just in the air, but on land and sea and space.
Perhaps more importantly, we need to rebuild our domestic manufacturing.
China now : US before WWII :: the US now : Germany before WWII.
The US military and the Russian military were outclassed by Germany, maneuvering unit to maneuvering unit, as of 1938...just as the China military is outclassed by us now. But we know who won the WWII...the military that was outclassed, but had the backing of superior nanufacturing.
That's why I'm willing to tolerate these tariffs. We need to on-shore heavy manufacturing, tech manufacturing, and drug manufacturing.
Drones? We have the best drone program in the world. We’ve used drones in combat situations many times. I have no fear that we’re behind in any way when it comes to unmanned aerial and land vehicles. I know this because I’ve seen it.
The US military industrial complex is the most formidable in the world. If a major/world war broke out, there is no doubt in my mind that we’d dominate just as we did in WWII.
I agree that we should bring manufacturing back to the US. Military R&D and manufacturing will always be here. I’m taking about the other things you mentioned.
