Turns out that what he and his team found were the SSNs of everyone who has ever received SS. Since SS started about 90 years or so ago, and older Americans were allowed to apply, there are a bunch of numbers in the system associated with people who were born 150+ years ago. Amazingly, the problem arose because Elon's team of tech bros can't understand COBOL.
Of course, normal people knew that the original story was fishy at best, and most likely made up. But, for some reason, the autistic Afrikaner is always first believed. I love the results. I hope he continues with both guns blazing.

It's been more than a few years since graduating with an Engineering degree from ND, but I've also taken the time to get Master's degrees in Engineering and Business...each of which involved Advanced Statistics courses. While I'm not anxious to take a quiz right now, I'm pretty sure the authors of those studies have taken the time to make sure their results are "Statistically Relevant".
