NATO Sec General Mark Rutte: "the U.S. is absolutely right that it is only fair that on the European side of NATO, we ramp up spending because we need to do it for our own defense. But also, because it is fair to get this balance with what the U.S. is spending on defense."
This was after Trump called NATO on this issue again. He did it in 2020, and EU allies claimed that they would give more, but then Biden got in and they knew they didn't have to do it anymore, so they didn't.
When Trump said that he saw no need for the EU to be at the Ukraine/Russia peace talks (and they hadn't contributed anything meaningful to the effort to justify a protest - save Poland), Macron called an emergency meeting of top EU leaders. This is the result.
So the EU acknowledges that they have been freeloading off of the US. That Chris, is proof that we have been paying for our friends and covering for our friends.
And this is what good leadership looks like - not being afraid to stand up for your people for what is fair.
And low and behold, look what happens!
I do admit that this might make the cocktail get togethers at conferences in some of these counties uncomfortable. You see, after a while of getting something for nothing, a sense of entitlement develops.

I am for reigning in the tyrant Putin - to the degree that it is realistically possible. No further invasion from him or we stay involved. But, I am not interested in chasing the fools gold of trying to get Ukraine's land back. Biden was weak, and Putin jumped at the chance. That ship has sailed.
If EU wants to fund this (which they won't - they are cheap, selfish, and woke-broke).
invasion of Ukraine...and his Lapdog won't help them anymore.

Since Trump is our "Siberian Candidate", it's up to Europe alone to aid Ukraine...and they are stepping up to the challenge.
