Why would Putin allow US aid to go to Ukraine?...again, assuming he could stop it, which is kind of silly. The fact that it still flows discredits Chris ( and I guess you too if you believe him).

If you had, you might have noticed that Trump had a 90-minute call with Putin...and then came away spouting Russian disinformation. And caving to all his demands.

Now the US is demanding 50% of Ukraine's mineral wealth, to compensate for wartime assistance.

You also need to listen to Trump speak himself to understand how the TDS media spins his meaning . Very much like when he said that there were “very fine people” on each side of the statue issue and they spun it to claim he called racists “very fine people”.

Trump doesn’t mean what he says? That isn’t becoming of a president, is it? Especially if he says one thing and does the opposite.

He called Zelensky a dictator because the Ukraine hasn’t had elections. The reason, of course, is because the Ukraine has been in a state of marshal law.

I actually didn't say that. Let me elaborate on my post below:

Sometimes Trump means what he says because he says 1000 things a day in his daily interviews and press conferences (something no other president has done). He may mean them, but he says them without advice of his subordinates. By the time he acts, he usually acts reasonably.

Sometimes he demands things he knows he won't get in order to negotiate or motivate behavior. Just a change in tone by POTUS slowed down border crossings. When negotiating, you often ask for 3 times what you want, saying you must get it to be made whole...when you know you will have to compromise later and accept less to allow the other side to save face. Does that mean he didn't mean it?

Sometimes (more often than not), what he is reported to have said is taken out of context to create a talking point (like Chris94 always did with the Charlotte comments, continually doubling down on his lie about Trump because he wants to score political points, and he relies on low-information Democrats to just trust him because he has a Ph.D.).

Then again, he may say some things he doesn't mean...like every other president before him.

I definitely said I don't follow what he says most of the time. The guy gives hours of interviews a day. I don't have time to listen to him, and nor do I want to listen to him. I see no point in it. He will do what he will do because he was elected. In a few years, we will all get a chance to reassess. Why freak out about it now???

...let's go back to 2020 and look at DJT's Top 40 'Broken Promises'...i.e. NOT doing what he said he would...in the attached summary. In NONE of those cases did Trump act "Reasonably"...he simply Lied.

It's only gotten worse from there.

You're intelligent enough to see all of this, and yet you deny the truth...repeatedly...so that's unabashedly dishonest...WHY do you do this?

Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle. The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…..

Europe’s money is guaranteed (not sure what this even means)

Zelensky made a campaign statement for Biden

Putin has said he will discuss cease fire
US wants to negotiate peace but relations w Russia are in dumper and the air needs to be cleared for negotiations to occur

Zelensky being brave, Zelensky being corrupt, Putin being a tyrant are all not mutually exclusive possibilities.

So who is the one pushing for peace in an unwinnable war for our side?
That would be Trump.

Who is the one who wants a free election?
Again, that would be Trump.

Who is staying beyond his term and eschewing an election? (admittedly there is war and there would need to be authenticity).

Who facilitated the invasion?

Should we, or should we not, support Ukraine in their fight against Russia. I think reasonable Americans can disagree on this. We have a right to do whatever we want with our tax dollars, and that is a perfect topic for legitimate political debate, and I think there are arguments on both sides.

Was Russia or Ukraine the aggressor nation? Obviously, Russia was the aggressor, as you state, and Ukraine is the victim of this war. Does Ukraine have a right to defend itself? Obviously it does.

Zelensky:
--Is he popular or not? I don't know. And I'm not sure it matters. His people are fighting for him, as witnessed by Russia's inability to defeat a nation that everyone thought they would beat in 72 hours.
--Did he pander for aid? Of course. He was fighting for his country, and tried to get everything he could. I would expect nothing less from him.
--Can we track our aid? Probably not. Is that surprising to me? No. They are fighting for their very existence. They are probably not spending a lot of time on bookkeeping, and responding to audit requests.

Was Ukraine corrupt before the war? I guess so. It was on a list of corrupt countries...although, it could be argued that part of the reason for that was because of the Russian influence there (see, e.g., Viktor Yanukovych). Although, Ukraine did try to go after those who were making payments to the Biden family, but Biden withheld US aid to them in order to make sure his family was paid (and bragged about it on TV). We taught them it doesn't pay to be too focused on rooting out corruption. And, I think DOGE will show us all kinds of domestic corruption before they are done.

Zelensky is very popular although they don’t do “approval ratings” but trust ratings.
