Although I dont know what the hell help Ben Wallace will add. Wally World isn't exactly great offensive help and is a defensive liability.
Any Cavs fans out there?
I think the NBA blows, but I follow the Cavs in passing because I do enjoy watching fellow hometowner LeBron.
Getting rid of Larry Hughes is addition by subtraction. His contract is atrocious, he has a terrible shot and he's injury prone. I guess the same could be said of Ben Wallace, but at least he's a defensive presence. Hughes literally added nothing.
I have no idea if the trade is a net positive for Cleveland, but I think the team was desperate to show LeBron that it was working to make the team better.

Wallace was a bum with the Bulls. The Pistons did a good job of boosting his appeal, but he isn't that good of a player. Maybe he will help LeBron a bit, but it isn't much of an addition.
As a Bulls fan, this trade pleases me. Get rid of the contract (and space taken up by Wallace). Gooden is a solid addition, but Wallace was a problem in the locker room and a failure by all accounts. He needed to go.
They just erased one of their biggest mistakes with that deal.
Meanwhile, what the hell is Cleveland thinking? I know their defense was bad this year, but now their offense will be too.
Szerbiak helps them offensively and allows LJ to move to guard.
Wallace and Hughes swap is a wash of disappointing players....their contracts are very similar....Wallace will be a 20 minute a night backup in Cleveland not a starter. Cavs gave up very little of value. Gooden is in the bottom half of PF in the league and loses playing time when Anderson Varajeao comes back. Delonte West could end up starting for Cavs. Joe Smith is a solid veteran.
Cavs rolled the dice...if this doesnt work out Szerbiaks contract of 13m expires next year which gives the Cavs great cap flexibility.
This helps Cavs while giving up marginal talent in return.
