The Right Way to identify and cut waste in government spending is for Congress to empower a review
and investigation of all agencies...starting with Senate approval of a Director. Musk has not been approved for it as yet...which btw, carries with it, ACCOUNTABILITY for all that goes on with such a program...not sure he wants that level of responsibility, given his rather large Conflict of Interest in that sphere.
Once again, the model for such an effort is the Congressionally approved Clinton administration's program, which yielded not only significant reductions in government spending, but more importantly, a Surplus that lowered the level of Debt....DOGE is making cuts to programs it doesn't even understand, as evidenced by "Condoms for Hamas"...and the firing of Nuclear Weapons Program staff.
The only logical reason for Trump/Musk's "Ready...Fire...Aim" approach is to claim a number for "Spending Reductions" that would justify Trillions of dollars in Tax Reductions for Corporations and Wealthy Americans as fast as possible.
Joe Rogan is just part of the Mis/Dis Information pipeline.

If waste were easily identifiable, we would have no problem cutting it. Indeed, people would be put in jail for spending on it, if it were that easy.
With the amount of cuts needed, we need to cut "good" spending so we can stop stealing from future generations. There is not enough agreed waste to address the existential threat to the United States that our deficit spending presents. So, let's stop talking about waste, and let's start talking about all the good spending that we cannot afford to do.
I disagree, I think waste is approaching the majority of it.
The quibble is between waste and fraud, but whatever. "Good spending" is probably less than 50%. 55,000 NGOs are now basically a 5th branch of government, they can do the bidding without the restrictions and everyone makes millions and tithes a portion of that to a political party. It's gross.

Do you accept that Debt Inflating Tax Breaks for Corporations and the Wealthiest Americans need to
eliminated as well?...especially given that we already know how wastefully that potential income was treated...i.e. Stock Buybacks and even more transfers of generational wealth...leaving the remaining 99% of Americans to suffer with the residual debt load.
BOTH Fiscal Levers need to be utilized...but Trump, Musk, Thiel and the other Plutocrats are hell-bent on getting their "un-fair share" of U.S. wealth. Who else would be calling for an increase in the Debt Ceiling right now?

Democrats, including Biden have a record of passing bipartisan legislation...even when it comes to
government spending cuts...along with tax increases for corporations and the wealthiest Americans. Have yet to see such examples from DJT...his "Art of the Deal" can be summarized as "My Way, or the Highway"...witness today's "Deal Making" disaster.
Again...Clinton showed the way...99-1 approval in the Senate for his bipartisan deal on spending cuts...yielded us an eventual government "Surplus!", and reduced Debt Level...WooHoo!

Answer:...put in the hard work, like Clinton did...don't just mindlessly "Cull the Herd" with no
idea who you're shooting, or whether they're productive or not...work with all the participants to ID where the waste, and possible fraud, is...then make your cuts. It worked very well before...why act like DOGE Clowns and cause more harm than good?

When I was younger, yes absolutely. But I don't think he's the type of boss that believes in work/life balance.
A friend of a friend works for him
and meets with him once/week. He told me once after a difficult, 14 hour day in the office, Elon poked him in the chest and told him his problems would go away if he cared more.
Met an ND Grad at the Gym who worked in Tesla's Fremont, CA plant a few years back...
...asked him how he liked it there...said he was actively searching for a new job...couldn't wait to get out...Work/Life Balance was mentioned.
