Just had surgery yesterday to remove the screws and plate, and doc found a bunch of severe scar tissue, which is why all this time later (despite a prognosis of being 100% fully functional six months post-injury) that I could not walk without a limp or make any sort of a competent golf swing.
Hopefully this time I can heal. I appreciate those of you who reached out privately.

good decision to remove the hardware. now you need to prop your clubs in a conspicuous spot to provide inspiration. when you, conor, and tyrone try to bring down this old conservative in a couple of months, you'll need to be injury free!
all the best!

Glad you got screws and plate out.
I was given option and left mine (with some pins) in and can still feel them at certain times. Bother me when I put on boots to ski especially. Wish I had them taken out now…but no desire for another surgery to do it these days…
The guy who had them taken out was happy he did and those who left them in wish they had taken them out.
When I saw a study out of Germany that 96% were glad they had the hardware removed, I made my mind up that I wanted them removed, too, although it was actually my doctor's idea.
By the way, this is the third doctor that treated me. The first was the operating surgeon in Indiana. The second was an ortho in Savannah who did basically nothing, didn't let me get on my feet until 10 weeks and didn't schedule therapy for 13 weeks after initially saying I didn't need any!
Wishing you well and hoping the wheel returns to full strength.
