I think it's pretty simple.
We (and/or Europe) could go to war with Russia and we could win, and Russia gives back the territory or they could launch nukes or it's WW3 and Einstein's proclamation becomes true "WW4 is fought with sticks and stones". There are no solutions, but tradeoffs.
But, given that we lost the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, do you think we would win this one?
