Maybe not everything can, or horrors, should be funded by the United States, and yes, I'm talking about even some health and safety measures. Let's pick and choose our battles and quit trying to play God.

In actuality, Democrats are the more fiscally responsible party, as demonstrated by Bill Clinton's
administration delivering a budget Surplus and lowering the national debt level...by working with Republicans and Unions to Compromise and find common ground that achieves the goal of more efficient spending while still improving conditions for ALL Americans. Note that the legislation finally passed to achieve those cost savings got a 99-1 Senate approval vote...That's the RIGHT WAY to go about this effort...not this Clown Car, "DOGE" fiasco.
In addition, it is the Democratic Party that insists on having fiscally responsible Inspectors General in place throughout all government agencies...as opposed to Donald Trump's version of the GOP that fires them.
Another example of fiscal responsibility by Democrats is their insistence on controls for Financial Entities, so that we don't fall into "Great Recessions" due to un-checked, multi-Trillion Dollar 'products' like Credit Default Swaps, and Banking/Investment Institutions without 'Stress Tests' to ensure their ability to handle the risks they engage in. Sadly, today's GOP objects to such measures.

for passing truly enormous debt increases from the extensions of the 2017 Tax Cuts. The United States is being weakened every day by DOGE. There is a better, and more intelligent way to go about debt reduction...as both GHW Bush and Clinton showed...make focused 'surgical' cuts to spending, without diminishing the positive impacts of government agencies, while also ensuring that corporations and the wealthiest...by far...Americans pay their fair share in needed taxes.
Your party has had their chance to do that, and they've failed by any measure.
