I think it was Eric Weinstein that stated there are two types of TDS - derangement and devotion. I don't understand either of them.

They were never more than a conditional friend if that's the case. I have many close friends and family members who dislike Trump or feel that the current iteration of the left is the better voting alternative. I don't agree with them, but I also wouldn't excommunicate them over it.

You may not believe this, but most of my friends are Democrats. At least 2/3. Those Democrats have never told me they are shut out by family members voting opposite them. But, they do sometimes talk about stopping friendships from the Right. I am always very careful with what I say in their presence on political issues, and try to avoid such discussions altogether, because I enjoy their friendships.

My right leaning friends...when they are assured it is safe to talk (e.g., no Harris voters are present) all talk about how they had Democrat friends and family members who will no longer talk to them. But, but they are always willing to be friends with anyone. Free discourse and hard discussion of ideas is not a problem for them. But the Democrats are emotional about it, not intellectual about it, which is what causes this behavior. I can usually tell who the right leaning friends are, because they often remain silent when politics come up, lest they ruin a good night.

I generally keep my political positions to myself for professional reasons. I only ridicule Trumpers on this board.

Destroying or defacing someone’s property because of politics is insanely dumb. I don’t subscribe to that shit nor do the people that I associate with.

I hope most of us aren't like this in real life, lol.
