To continue a point made in a thread below. I speculate that this is because people are liberals/Democrats because the very basis of their belief system is morality, fairness and compassion. To be clear, all of these are admirable traits and are to be commended, and I think we all here want to be those things.
The problem is conservatives don't necessarily agree with what defines them the same way liberals do. So when you perceive someone is not moral, fair or compassionate, the natural tendency is to cut contact. And that, boys and girls (can I still say that?), explains why defriending people is mainly a trait from the left.

At my age, I don’t know anyone who friends/unfriends people on social media.
I do know good and decent Americans who voted for Trump, family and friends alike.

Political Conservatism has never been the issue with liberals it’s where conservative extremism
has joined with criminality treason and financial self interest that is a huge problem. Over the decades both parties have sought political candidates and put forward those who would work in this country’s best interests. Never has this country ever elected a candidate with no scruples, an entire lack of character, zero interest in governance and has no interest or vision outside self financial gain and being king/tyrant-dictator of the world.

Even in organized sports the hard core liberal hates competition and especially competition with contact. They cannot grasp the idea that sports makes you strive for excellence and achieve within the framework of teamwork or hard work individually. Can you imagine not keeping score?
