First of all, I am not MAGA, as I told Chris before, just because I disagree with you, doesn't mean that you can put me into a box. You've done this multiple times before in responses to me. Some people just disagree, and that's ok Jim.
Secondly, how many civil servants have you worked with in your time? For me it's been hundreds, and although the sample size is small and mostly local to me, even around here it is commonly known that in order to get rid of someone, you simply make it someone else's problem, rather than go through the rather lengthy process required to fire the problem worker. Union publications routinely rank the "best" organizations on the bases to work for, the highest are the ones that will not do the process, and the worst are the ones who will do what is required in order to fire people.
Lastly, if you really want some stories, I can give you some. Or you can take me at my word, which I know people don't like doing nowadays. I've spent nearly 20 years working in the DOD. You could fire practically half the civil servants and nothing would happen. My comment was to Frank, not you, in regards to civil service workers. I know many excellent civil service workers as well, many of which are actually in my family or close friends. Even they will tell you that there are a lot of unproductive and unneeded ones. I support the idea of trimming the fat from the government, there is plenty, but I do disagree with the way it seems DOGE is going about it.
locally you have issues with.
I’m sure everyone on this board and across the nation, heck, universally dislike working with slow, unmotivated, contrary workers. And moreover we can all attest to being stuck behind government bureaucracy in our day to day dealings. What maybe even worse are the employees of major corporations like Verizon, Spectrum, all electric and power companies having to deal with them through their lack of efficiency, deceiving claims and hidden costs and more.
As for your claim you’re not a MAGAhat, maybe you could stop posting like one.
I said mostly locally, not all locally.
The difference between the public and private sector is that it is much easier to remove private sector employees than civil servants.
I asked you how many civil servants (federal to be more clear) you've had to deal with. I notice you didn't answer and instead went on a tangent about Verizon and whatever, which has to do with the discussion of unproductive and unneeded civil servants.
As far as your MAGAhat comment, from what I can tell, anyone who doesn't agree with you must be one. I'm not going to stop thinking for myself, so I suppose that I'll just keep sounding like one to you when we disagree.
That would most definitely put you in the MAGAhat arena. As far as everyone I disagree with must be a MAGAhat in my view is phenomenally wrong. I disagree with Conor, FrankL, C94 on many posts but they are clearly not MAGAhats posting MAGAfacts and I certainly don’t see them that way. It’s not only that I disagree with you, that would be a decent conversation - it’s that you support DJT, much of his bs and all too often further his misinformation. Example is your posting a blanket statement on civil employees. Also the moronic question of how many do you know as if it’s a competition of a sort (a common MAGAtactic to win a discussion). Getting something wrong is okay - it’s the repeating directly obvious R media points and tactics.
But to re-answer your MAGA question, over the years I’ve known and worked with a great many. I wouldn’t be able to count mostly because mine is not a scorecard life. MAGAnation sees everything as a scorecard - who’s with me, who’s against me.
I asked you how many because you asked for examples or if you should just take my word for it.
I didn't vote for Trump, and I already said I don't like how DOGE is doing what they are doing. I'm not sure how that means I support Trump.
I do however call out sensationalism like when Chris posted that someone was calling for martial law. That's not what they said, and I gave examples of multiple national emergencies that didn't include martial law. That was not support of Trump, it was against sensationalism.
I've never seen you disagree with any of those you listed, but as with Frank L previously, perhaps I missed those. They are however 3 people who constantly post Democrat talking points or anti-Trump articles, so I can see how you would not believe them MAGA folks by not agreeing on a song choice or TV show.
There are things on both sides that I agree with and disagree with, which is why I'm in the middle.
and that our food and medicine are safe. Musk seems to want to fire, or has already fired some of them.
There are plenty of people around here who are responsible for making sure planes don't fall out of the sky. If you fired the right 50%, everything would still be the same and the planes won't fall out of the sky.
peeps on board are just widgets not people. Wonder what the acceptable crash rate is in his algorithm?
The current crash/accident rate is already high enough that the big brass is pushing hard to correct it.

It’s possible you’re just making it up to the way the rest of your MAGAbrood does.

That being said, she does have an axe to grind over what she sees as an "Old Boys" network in that field. Given that female doctors at Stanford's Medical School filed suit against the University for gender bias a while ago, Ms. Prescod-Weinstein may have reason to feel that way. In any event, she's a pretty smart lady...and probably "Light Years" ahead of Iggy.
