Exactly why I was pissed at Biden for issuing preemptive pardons.
I understand Biden’s intentions in sparing public servants the expense and consternation of defending frivolous prosecutions, but it was bluster by Trump.
The best lawyers and law firms in America would be lined up to offer pro bono defense for the January 6th committee members or any other Trump targets (Fauci, Milley).
Biondi’s soldiers would face a host of challenges and risk of losing their bar licenses trying to make hay out of squat. Moreover, defendants would put on the entire Jack Smith case as their defense, which would expose Trump for the insurrectionist that he is.
Trump and Biondi would be thoroughly discredited and humiliated in the courts of law.
