Ford and GM have to go to Mexico to compete with the Eiros and the Asians.
This is far more the reason for the US losing the manufacturing trade war than foreign tariffs.
The foreign car makers locate in non-union states and keep their labor costs in check
I would drive #4 Tesla Model S. (That will likely be my next car—but my 5 year old Model 3 drives like the first day I got it. Close to zero maintenance: Windshield washer fluid, windshield wipers, and tires have been it. Brake pads are like new, no fluid changes, etc.)

Teslas are the most American car on the market. The technology is second to none. The notion that long travel is impossible is a fallacy as Tesla has the largest and most strategically placed charging network. Teslas are fast and they perform well in all weather conditions.
As you can see, I’m a big proponent of Teslas. Great cars/trucks

They look nothing like a VW Beetle. Do you wear glasses when you look at them?
What car(s) do you consider aesthetically pleasing?

North American Charging Standard.
The Camry is consistently a bestseller, as is the Accord. I drive a Tacoma, but Tundras are also a popular truck.
