Quest implied that only people who pay income taxes file returns, millions of Americans get money from the IRS more than they paid in. And if you have any earned income, you must file a return. And filing a return does not mean that you pay federal income taxes.

If you want to increase taxes on the wealthy and super wealthy, you'll have no objections from me. Elon and I have suggested that we should eliminate all tax deductions, all of them. And along with that, all credits and rebates as well. Most people shouldn't need to file a return at all

the difference. And since most incomes are based on earnings received from an employer it’s likely you pay more taxes than owed.

Well of course the well off and wealthy don’t want tax credits for others, they don’t usually need them. But realistically the wealthy can pay high priced accountants to use every tool in the tax code/law to retain a greater % of their income. They’re usually the ones seen as paying because they hadn’t paid in more than necessary. Therefore they don’t receive money back.

You’ve skewed the act of the IRS sending returns to taxpayers who paid more taxes on their paychecks than they needed to.

It’s not quest who gets it wrong, it’s you who doesn’t get it.
