2019 federal budget: $4.4T
2024 federal budget: $6.8T
Why?
...now think for a moment as to what happened during that period.
btw, it's okay to seek out answers on your own.

But when the emergency goes away, we never cut.
...spending Decreased from it's high point of $7.94T, to $6.75T...and we incurred additional debt in interest payments...not offset by any increased taxes on corporations and the Top 1% of Americans who hold the vast majority of the nation's wealth.
Given your interest...maybe now would be a good time to keep an eye on how the U.S. economy performs under your chosen leader.
The additional interest would put it at under 5 trillion I believe, which would be a much shorter putt to a balanced budget
btw, I've already got the answer...let's see what you come up with ;-)

And are you actually seeking answers, I have to ask....
A reasonable, rational process to bring spending WAY down would have received broad support. Like the Gore Commission, that worked with the GOP Congress to balance the budget. Raising taxes would have been necessary too.
But instead we got the freak and the incels.
Are you an incel, Tyrone?
