"Trump says he’s ready to talk as new stock market losses fuel tariff chaos"...

...here's a key excerpt from the attached article...
-------------------
The administration seems to be interested only in the kind of “deals” that would require other countries to embrace total capitulation. “This is not a negotiation,” Trump’s top trade adviser, Peter Navarro, said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” He warned that offering the US a zero tariff wouldn’t be sufficient, and signaled nations must cede to White House demands on other issues, including non-tariff barriers and currencies.

While Trump’s concern for Americans left behind by the 21st century economy is laudable, his obsession with trade deficits and the trade in goods represents an archaic worldview. It ignores how the US economy has become a tech and services behemoth and how it will never be able to produce basic goods such as clothes as economically as lower-wage economies abroad. Making basic goods in the United States would cost more, would raise the cost of living and would harm the prosperity of many Americans.

-------------------

Just the sort of thing that Trump's 'Handler' wants to see.

Here's the thing, the bottom 50% don't own stocks.

The top 10% own 93% of the stock market.
If Trump's tariff gamut works, it will be a huge win for the bottom 50% and stocks will recover.

Reliable Energy not only for ourselves in the U.S., but for the rest of the world, with us leading the way...and for them to power much more efficient manufacturing and service industries built on AI and Quantum Computing Technology...not Mid-20th Century metal bending firms that other countries already provide at much lower prices than we could.

Konstantin lives in a dream world...not unlike yours.

He has 3 life goals going back to childhood (AKA he was born with a mission):
1. Humans should be a multi-planetary species, it's the only way to mitigate going the way of the dinosaurs.
2. Sustainable energy for all.
3. Make robots safe.

I'm not sure that Elon fully "Gets It" as to why Trump's tariffs are harmful, but at least he's on

the right side of the argument (see linked article)...hopefully, both his DOGE approach to balancing our budget, and the Trump Tariffs, will be gone shortly.

man dependent on drugs who doesn't take the time to think clearly and relies on hired professional staff to either bail him out, or minimize the damage he creates. He also demonstrates nearly the same level of Malignant Narcissism that DJT is afflicted with...including a complete lack of empathy for others...a real problem for someone working in Service to the Public.

Does the bottom 50% consume goods?

Because free trade lowers prices. Localized pain is easier to publicize than generalized benefit. Free trade brings both.

The lowest 50% always suffers most when the economy tanks.

The 1950s are not coming back.

Of course, which is why "zero-zero" tariffs is the definition of a win.

Class mobility is the paramount carrot for the working class. "I don't care about the DOW, I care about jobs for my children with the hope that their lives will be easier than mine. We're willing to put in the work.". That is the Working Class anthem, that most don't understand.

And without tariffs, they won't. With tariffs they won't either, but that is beside the point.

You dehumanize them as "morons" and openly cheer for their exploitation, hardship and suffering with "it's not the 1950s". Pretty easy to do sitting in an ivory tower, as it has always been.

You're not trying to understand how you lost to Trump, you're looking to blame someone else for it.
