To be patient on "tariffs" is not in the DNA of most under 30. You just wait.
Main Street will win. Trade deficit will get much better which will give companies time to reset in US

Yep. Young people feel that the American dream is dead. Does staying the course fix that?

Most manufacturing jobs cant be economically done here. Those that can are going to be automated. The world changes. Dreams of returns to the 50’s are much worse than our current economic reality. We live much better lives than any generation has lived before.

of some degree of repatriated work. Lower rates also allow the US to refinance its debt, which would be crushing to future generations.

prices will stay high especially with rate cuts and high prices for goods. Get your head out of your arse. Your clown leader is fighting a backwards looking war instead of preparing for the future economy. He has burned down many bridges. Just a bomb throwing chaos agent.

...the U.S. economy has changed with time and we are now the leading economy in the world, thanks to our outstanding position in Service Industries. AI and Quantum Computing will drive the future...if we care at all about our young, we'll make sure they can excel in Industries that provide such leadership.

Note that while we used to be strong in manufacturing, such exports now represent less than 10% of our GDP...now other countries are where we used to be in that arena, and typically get 30, 40, 50%...or more of their GDP there; it would be foolish to go backwards and try to compete with them without a low wage workforce.

Watch Conor's linked video segment with GOP Senator Lankford talking about this very issue...

Trying anything other than what the 2 parties have been doing is better. At least there is a chance the Republic will survive. An unknown is better than a certain evil. More of the same is just stealing from future generations while sending their employment opportunities over seas.

read what they did...thoughtfully work together to find spending cuts that respect affected federal workers, while at the same time amend the tax code to ensure revenue is fairly sourced. That time it resulted in a Surplus...Reduced Debt...and a 99-1 Senate authorization.

Dems haven't changed their approach, but the GOP vows to never increase taxes...even on Billionaires. There you have it.

As for Trump's fallacious rationale for outrageous Tariffs...there is no way we can or should try to go back in time and compete for basic manufacturing items...Stupidity Personified. Frankly, I think he knows that...and is just following orders. Doesn't matter to him so long as he gets to enjoy the good life.

Not sure if you realize it yet, but you are just as much a victim as anyone else with what Trump is up to.

None of this will decrease the deficit.

One trillion for the DOD.

Five trillion in new tax cuts.

MUCH less capital gains tax revenue.

And if we have a recession - and there’s a damn good chance of that - MUCH less income tax revenue.

Fans of debt will be thrilled.
