...you're just like every other MAGA...blind to any and all information that doesn't fit your bubble in a VEN diagram.

The FDA has historically taken years to formally ban just a single food ingredient. It took nearly three years to act on a petition to ban Red 3 in food, despite the fact that scientific studies showed decades ago that the dye causes cancer in rats. At least some of that slowness is by design. Regulators need to document legitimate harm that is caused by these products, and that process can take years. The FDA’s job also has become even more difficult in light of the mass layoffs that have played out in the early days of Donald Trump’s second presidency. Among the 89 staffers from the FDA’s food center are nine people specifically tasked with reviewing additives in foods, according to Jim Jones, a former head of the center. (He resigned in protest of the layoffs in February.)
Either way, the speed with which the food industry phases out these dyes should not be seen as the true measure of just how successful RFK Jr. is. Cracking down on food dyes has become a major plank of the MAHA platform, but the chemicals are nowhere near the biggest impediment to making America healthy again. The true test will be how Kennedy and his movement deals with much more pressing, and intractable, challenges in the American diet. Even without synthetic dyes in our foods, Americans will still overwhelmingly be eating ultra-processed foods loaded with excess sodium and sugar. This doesn’t seem to be a point lost on Kennedy, who issued a stern warning today that “sugar is poison.” And yet, he hasn’t articulated any plans to eliminate the ingredient from our food. Phasing out food dyes is easy, at least in comparison with tackling these bigger issues. The real test of the MAHA movement will be not whether it can get the red dye out of Skittles, but whether it can persuade Americans to forgo the Skittles altogether.

Then there's RFK Jr.'s Autism and Vaccine history, as well as thoughtless cuts to vital government health programs...

for a moment and actually read your own linked article. RFK Jr. needs to actually Accomplish something more meaningful than "Recommending" the removal of food dyes. Last I heard, there is no government mandate involved...and SUGAR is a much more problematic issue for Making America Healthy.
RFK Jr. acknowledges as "Toxic", yet he isn't planning to ban it.
Back to the Food Dyes...here's an excerpt from the attached article...
------------------
The Joe Biden administration previously moved to ban Red No 3 food dye, citing cancer risks in animal studies. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has consistently maintained that the approved dyes are safe.
Following Biden’s directive, Red No 3 must be removed from foods by 2027 and from medications by 2028. Kennedy aims to remove the remaining petroleum-based dyes, health officials said.
“American children have increasingly been living in a toxic soup of synthetic chemicals,” the FDA commissioner, Marty Makary, said. “These steps that we are taking means that the FDA is effectively removing all petroleum based food dyes from the US food supply.”
The move could mark a major step in Kennedy’s broader campaign against potentially harmful food additives. But some are still questioning how successful this campaign will be, especially regarding the Trump administration’s anti-regulatory stance towards industry giants.
When asked whether a formal agreement with food industry heads had been made, Kennedy responded: “I would say we don’t have an agreement. We have an understanding.”
An enforcement strategy or a clear timeline for the upcoming ban remains unclear, though Makary said that the administration aims to eliminate the dyes “by the end of next year”.
Kennedy questioned during the conference how the US would maintain world leadership “with such a sick population”, going on to refer to “all these autoimmune diseases” and “these exotic diseases”. He also expressed concern that the majority of American children cannot qualify for military service with certain conditions.
He went on to speak about the apparent rise in several types of diseases and disorders, which he believes could be possibly linked to the use of food dyes or other additives. “I never knew anybody with a peanut allergy,” he said, referring to when he was a child. “I never knew anybody with a food allergy. Why do five of my seven kids have allergies?”
The FDA has approved 36 food dyes for use in the US, nine of which are artificial and made from petroleum. The others are derived from natural sources, such as vegetables.

btw, the FDA relies on Scientific Studies in order to make decisions...hopefully RFK Jr. will continue that tradition/policy...and not rely solely on unsubstantiated opinions.

Sugar is not toxic in moderate amounts, it only becomes a problem in excess. Yes, the American diet has way too much sugar. But the food dyes are truly toxic, they have negative health effects in any amount and they provide no nutritional benefit whatsoever.
Many artificial sweeteners are arguably worse than sugar, even worse than high fructose corn syrup. If everyone followed my advice, use honey and real maple syrup, everyone would be healthier. But if my kids are going to eat cake, it's not the sugar I am concerned about, it's the other shit in there like dyes and gums and preservatives.
I worked on a project about 10 years ago for a major food and beverage manufacturer. What we did is blend soybean oil, guar and xanthum gums, non fat dry milk and water and then run it through a homogenizer. The project manager told me they had successfully lobbied the USDA to label this homogenized milk emulsion as "milk" on nutrition labels. So, when you buy pudding or anything with a milk based sauce from big food and beverage, even though the package says it contains milk, it is not what anyone would call milk. This is an example of the ultraprocessed food issue.
Know that RFK Jr is just getting started. You want to champion Biden eliminating Red Dye 3 in January, but criticize RFK Jr for not banning sugar, yet. This is a silly argument you are trying to make.
nothing's been accomplished...and he has yet to display any leadership qualities. Time to go back to your favorite mind-altering substance.

Fluoride is in toothpaste and mouth wash, this is how people should get fluoride, not from their drinking water.
...assuming you have the IQ to handle such information ;-)
