Bloomberg even says Ruble is surpassing safe-haven asset gold. Ruble, backed by gold and black gold- petroleum, is gold.

“Meanwhile, the rouble has been buoyed by record-high interest rates of 21pc as the Bank of Russia battles to temper inflation and support Vladimir Putin’s struggling war economy.

The currency also faces capital controls from the Kremlin which banned foreign companies from withdrawing their assets from Russia, requiring them to keep assets in special accounts.

Sofya Donets, an economist at T-Investments, said: “Unlike many emerging-market currencies, the rouble is not facing pressure from capital outflow, caused by global investors’ retreat from riskier assets.

“Capital controls have largely shielded Russia from this.”

The rouble’s rise – despite sweeping Western sanctions against Russia – comes as currencies around the world have surged against the dollar after Mr Trump’s trade war deepened fears of a US recession.”

You can thank Trump for the dollar’s decline. You can also thank Russian capital controls for the fake rise of the rouble. 21% interest rates help as well. Another dumb post by you today. Maybe you should take a break.

from withdrawing their assets from Russia is a counter measure to the west's sanctions that frozed Russia central bank's $300 billion reserves and other assets. All these mentioned in the article have nothing to do with Rouble's performance in 2025. It is just the sour tone when MSM reported Russia's achievements, as always. Of course I ignored these contents.

21% rate was raised long time ago, not in 2025. Banning western foreigners from withdrawing their assets from Russia was even longer, basically since the west froze Russia's $300B reserves. If the west unfreeze Russia's $300 B, Russia certainly will cancel the ban. Again, it is a counter measure by Russia
in case the west steal Russia's $300 B. They're not the reason when Rouble was weak against USD then, nor the reason when Rouble is strong against USD now.

BTW, Trump's weak dollar policy is in right direction. Dollar is way too much over-valued which hurt US producers. Trump persuaded Japan to lower exchange rate from over 150 yen before liberation day to now 145. China has been refusing to weaken their currency to USD. I know these are too much for you to understand.

You prop Russia as if their economy isn’t dependent on the war. It’s a bubble and once the war is over…the “chickens will come home to roost.”

And you do know that you’re contradicting the very article you posted, yes? Of course you don’t because you’re a dumb ass.

Not sure Putin really wants this.

It kinda crimps non governmental growth.

But if your entire economy is based on perpetual war making I suppose it's ok.
