Not sure if you have noticed, but "traditional medicine" and "science" have done pretty well in alleviating suffering. Life expectancy in 1900 was around 47 - it didn't get to 78+ by listening to crackpots and morons.

Functional medicine is not exclusionary of traditional medicine. It's part of a holistic approach.
I prefer Medical Professionals who believe in "Evidence Based Medicine" and maintain their Medical

Limitations

The use of PROMIS measures may provide timely information on a patient’s global health and could improve chronic disease management.

...their choice of the term "Trojan Horse" seems especially apt when it comes to Functional Medicine...basically it's untethered to "Evidence Based Medicine", and free to spout any theories from any source. Not the kind of medicine any responsible adult or parent should trust.
