...here's an interview with him in 2012...while the entire video is informative, I'd draw your attention to the 0:6:30 mark and note his comments regarding finding ways to help people become "Critical Thinkers" and not taking everything in the media at face value....
At Mass yesterday, our Pastor said the students were “jumping for joy” when announcement delivered at St Peter’s Square.
In explaining why he chose Pope Leo, Prevost explained he was following the footsteps of Pope Leo 13th’s emphasis in protecting the working class amidst the Industrial Revolution, and now Pope Leo’s challenge of protecting human dignity in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
Clearly a forward thinking pope.
Lots of grumpy Catholics who are unhappy with our new Pope’s views about harsh treatment of immigrants.
Now you will project some supposed problem i have with him even though I have no such problem. I'm just annoyed by people trying to use him to create more division.
(Untrue), was a citizen of Peru (Untrue, he’s a joint citizen) and was not very positive. Hell, you didn’t even wish the guy well in your first post on him. Not very unifying. His positions on the marginalized and migrants is well known and well within the mainstream of Catholic social thought. Unfortunately for you those views are directly contrary to your current hero. Otherwise my guess is he will be toward the middle or even conservative on gender and homosexuality.
My comments were a response to slow down the attempts to use Leo to divide American Catholics...to further destroy bridges. It was too early to know much about him. But, please proceed with trying to use Leo to put a stick in the eye of your fellow American Catholics. You know you were doing it, which is i guess why you want to use a response by me to justify the earlier (and possibly premature) football spiking by you and others on the Left.
...what's appealing is Leo's lack of pretentiousness...ability to connect with anyone he's talking with...and truly 'Listen' in a way that his summation of what he heard was viewed by one reporter as better than what he could have provide ;-). Really looking forward to his Papacy.

Not many grads that I know refer to ND as Notre Dame University.
Of course he’ll deny it. He probably deleted it long ago.
By how you refer to it?
,,,as clearly stated...and accepted by many...you're wrong, Nigel. Btw, have you already forgotten the Emil T, and Eric Penick (RIP) conversations we had?
As for Jake, he's still got his panties twisted for some reason only he knows...can't seem to focus on any issue at all...Que Sera...
Now, with that out of the way, do yourself a favor and watch the video...IMO, Leo has all the makings of a "Pontif"...i.e. a "Bridge Builder"...we are very fortunate to have the Conclave choose him. Who knows...he might even have an impact on the members of the UHND Open Forum...could happen.

Common ground? What a joke. Is the Babe's caddie worm food yet? Or, still a figment of your twisted imagination?
like yourself from doing any of the "Critical Thinking" that Pope Leo talks about. Only you can deal with and fix that problem.
If Jakers and Nigel are examples of Domers, glad I missed the experience.
the ND administration or Board of Trustees.
