In general, I would agree with you except that the Left has been radicalized and also has a lot more derangement and perversion at this time. Combine that with the liberal tenant that “The ends justify the means” (Liberalism Rule #3), and here we are.
Much of this has been instigated on university campuses a real focal point of indoctrination (rather than education) which is why some universities are under heavy scrutiny.
Also, many who need treatment are being told its normal and not getting it.
