Rick Derringer RIP
Had a monster hit with his band The McCoys (Hang On Sloopy) then later joined Johnny Winter Band and the Edgar Winter Group as part of their back up band then, if that wasn't enough, had another monster hit as a solo artist with "Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo".. I saw Rick at the old Comiskey Park in Chicago back in 1976 on the same bill with Jeff Beck and Aerosmith as the closing act. Rick and his band rocked the joint out before Beck and Aerosmith ever took center stage.

RIP — I saw him in 1977 at ND in what was called the ACC at the time.

Ah.....the ACC, great basketball season 1977-78. Loved Rich Branning. Beat UCLA on their court four
straight years. Owned them. Those were the days!
