Musk has zero political instincts. The Big Bill barely addresses entitlements and the Dems...

are already calling these heartless.

ANY meaningful attempt to deal with our deficits is HOPELESS.

No, anyone trying to make cuts to poor people while giving rich people tax breaks is HOPELESSS.

How about something across the board and fair? Enough short term growth with deficits while mortgaging the long term future.

It's far more nuanced than this. And it ain't the poor who are voting themselves so many benefits.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship." Lord Woodhouselee.

If the entitlement retirement age were the same as was the life expectancy when these programs were enacted we would have no deficit.

You do know that Orange has increased our deficit more than any other prez? He even beat Biden.

Of course he was. The issue is when you posit yourself as the person who will change it, but then

act even more recklessly. Here’s the bad news folks. Entitlements across the board are going to have to take a huge haircut. It’s easy to wack the poorest and the most helpless which is Trumpism 101. That won’t solve the problem though. On top of the entitlement haircut, there will also need to be tax increases starting with extending the social security tax to make that solvent.

He was always a huge deficit spender. In many ways he represents the classic Democrat policies.

Funny how libs look for compromise only after losing all power. These false claims don’t help you…

…..but they aren’t about reality, are they? They are about trying to lay the groundwork later for retaking power……all politics with you.

Tell me who suffers when corporate tax rates are increased? I’ll accept your silence as acknowledgment of my point.

And not the corporate tax cuts and not the orangeman money grab schemes. It’s always the same with you and your nuttiness.

I was addressing the second portion of the post wrt DEI which is highly worthy of focus, and costs us tremendously as well.
