I think the answer to that is interesting.
It doesn't sound like Kelly would have been there when it was supposedly said.
Kelly never said he actually witnessed it in anything that I could find.
If Kelly were there and did hear it himself...he just stood there and allowed it to go unquestioned?
Several people who were there refute the story - and there was even even a guy Trump fired and would have no reason to cover for him - John Bolton who says he was present the whole time and never heard Trump say such a thing.
This suggests a political general who allows a MSM reporter suggestion gain legs by restating the false article as fact and not explaining that he didn't actually witness the event as the story now implies.
