Our evolutionary legacy involves living in tribes led by CHIEFS who compulsively fought over territory. In terms of the history of life on earth, we descended from the canopy a mere eyeblink ago. Our psyches are still governed by unconscious conflicts and anxieties extant from prehistory. We do what we can to create conscious guardrails to limit violent acting out… but our aggressuve instincts remain buried inside our heads like tectonic plates beneath the earth’s crust. They only need to be triggered to set off a catastrophic quake. The hope is that our increasing technological connectivity can make us sufficiently aware of the potential horror if we yield to our CHIEFS’ most base instincts. Sadly, if we try to be reasonable with the most aggressive CHIEFS… they just run over us. Then we go elevate our own CHIEF.

in which you question whether any successful tribe/empire can long-term be dominated by their womenfolk, that's a more interesting question. Or maybe the trajectory of a country whose heroes and warriors are women, while its men are vilified, also interesting.
Separate issue, but the WNBA leveraging race to attempt to build its platform is "smart" in that it generates clicks, but long-term seems like a bad idea.
HS has fallen into the same trap. It's the WWE with a ball. Wait till the first couple of males actually play in the WNBA. That's going to be fun.
Yes, I realize they are the best at their sport in the world, BUT I could find a boy's HS team that could beat the best WNBA team by 30. It's just not that impressive to watch, so you have to do something else to make it interesting. Hence violence, personalities and the race issue.
And on the point about first she-man in the WNBA, Britney Griner might be that person.
But then some psychopathic dude would claim to be a woman and try to conquer the world.

Sophie Cunningham was brought in for the same reasons as were the Hansons.

I'd steer clear of a woman with a black belt in taekwondo.
