The ransom is too high for any compromises to happen.
All of these big bills are loaded with pork, waste and unintended consequences. If we are to solve problems and reduce debt, a third party will have to do it.
God willing. One of the worst pieces of legislation in memory. Cuts health care to the poor and
working class to extend tax cuts to rich people while still managing to raise the deficit by 3.3 trillion. Trifecta time MAGA freaks.
That's not the problem. The problem is it doesn't cut everything else.
As far as the poor, why does no one think about the future poor? Only current poor count, so we destroy our nation with debt, the future poor be damned.
This is how I know people aren't serious about an issue.
For example, if someone is serious about climate change, they would try to balance the budget so that our nation could help address the issue for the next 100-200 years. But, they don't. They are quite willing to destroy the nation with debt (a nation with the most ability to address the issue) for a little more power for their party and donors right now, the future be damned.
Once again...it was the Clinton admin that led the way to a budget surplus by diligently working
with Republicans...and all affected parties (e.g. Government Employees) to reduce spending...and increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans, as well as corporations. That is the Democratic Party strategy today...unfortunately, there aren't enough rational Republicans to close the deal.
As usual, you are way out in right field. The problem is we take care of current wealthy. That
tax cut extension is an abomination that we can’t afford. I say that as one who benefits from it. If we got rid of that, then talk about cuts to the poorest of Americans. It’s ass backward. If we can’t afford the Medicaid program how do we afford the tax cut extension that adds 3.3 trillion to the debt?
Looks as though Ned is hopelessly in love with Ayn Rand and 'Objectivism'...i.e. it's against the
rules to do anything nice for anyone else...hence the Bromance for Trump.
What I found interesting about his post is that it focused on the Medicaid cuts and said nothing
about that fiscal embarrassment of a tax cut extension. I am not saying entitlements don’t need cuts and that some lower income folks are gonna get hurt. But cutting benefits while extending tax cuts to the richest which will add 3.3 trilllion to the deficit is moronic. That is pure Trumpism which his working class followers will swallow with no problems as they agree with his culture war items. Sad and disturbing.
There is so much fraud, waste, and abuse of Medicaid... there is plenty of cutting available that
will not impact the poor in receiving healthcare.
Show us how much is waste and where it is...while you're at it, show us how millions of Americans
suddenly denied HC will be taken care of going forward.
