He was born in Uganda, but he was not smart enough to realize that when you check the “African American” bix on the college application, you are telling them that you are black and that gave you special admissions advantage because of Affirmative Action.

Mamdani's lying on his resume is just classic - he angled to get the Affirmative Action consideration on his application to college that was meant for the sons and daughters of slaves even though he was a rich white man who never endured any such disadvantage.

This is kind of a dumb issue, but his father is and was a professor at Columbia, so it would be nice if was just honest: "I checked the boxes that I thought gave me the best chance to be admitted.". Or what would be awesome is if he said "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
