What a difference a few years makes: Columbia U students suspended for 1-3 years for taking over
the school library. This never would have happened under the previous presidential administration and in the wake of The Madness. The pressure that Trump has applied has been substantial. I have no data, and only anecdotes, but I also suspect many donors have said, "You're not getting a penny from me until you start to change." Money talks. Threatened with fewer donations from rich alums and the threat of losing federal dollars reveals how weak a commitment many university leaders have to The Cause when The Cause threatens revenue.

A better response, but still no the best - expulsion. Baby steps. Good point on the academic
institutions: they aren't the altruists that they claimed to be. Big surprise.
