And as I’ve mentioned, California is the largest donor state by far. We send the federal government a lot more than we receive.
Having said that, I can see some people not being able to retire here. That sucks, but I leave it to everyone’s personal preference as to where they’d like to live. There is good and bad in every state. I like it out here for a multitude of reasons. I don’t see myself leaving…ever. Too nice, I make good money, I have a beautiful home, my kids are going to college here, I love my job and my colleagues, I have a lot of friends here, there’s no snow unless I want to see snow…
What I don’t like…I see a lot of active duty military that need assistance…mostly E4 and below with families. In my philanthropic efforts at my company, we organize food drives and volunteer to assist some local non-profits that are military specific. Homelessness is a big problem that is ongoing, It’s not just California, but there are some terrible drivers out here. Some city streets are in bad condition, in fact I’ve had a conversation with Mayor Gloria about all of my above concerns. He’s a good guy and he does his best, but there is only so much he can do. Sorry for rambling.

Illinois Governor Jelly Belly is a lying sack of lard in his denials but his citizens are on the move to Wisconsin, Indiana, Tenn, and Florida. He and Chicago Mayor BLM Brandon Johnson do not care. It's the Chicago Teachers Union that they care about.
...especially in FLA due to extremely high insurance rates, which in turn are due to the increasing effects of Climate Change...which leadership refuses to acknowledge...even though unemotional insurance execs can see the evidence clearly. Do these states not know how to provide for their citizens?
Here's an AI Summary...
--------------------
AI Overview
While Texas and Florida continue to see overall population growth, the rate of domestic migration into these states has slowed compared to previous years. Specifically, the influx of new residents from other US states has decreased in both Texas and Florida, while some cities within these states are even experiencing net outflows of residents.
Here's a more detailed look:
Slower Inflow:
Both Texas and Florida saw significant decreases in net domestic migration in 2024 compared to 2022. For example, Florida's net domestic migration dropped from +314K in 2022 to +64K in 2024, according to ResiClub.
Cities Experiencing Outflows:
Some cities in these states, like those in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa metro areas, are experiencing more people moving out than moving in.
Factors Contributing to the Shift:
Factors like rising home prices, high property taxes, and increased insurance premiums in these states are potentially contributing to the slowdown in migration.
Continued Growth:
Despite the slowdown, both states are still experiencing positive net migration overall, indicating that more people are still moving in than moving out.
Sun Belt Shift:
The trend of people moving to the Sun Belt, including Texas and Florida, has been ongoing for years, but the pace has notably decreased.

that human beings overwhelmingly are prone to group pressures and socialization, whether they like it or not. Most people naturally meet norms. Even most Dems will eventually adjust their beliefs if they move to red areas, and vice versa. You need only look at our own DFH.
Orland Park just recently voted out the best common sense mayor in the state because he wouldn't sign a a document supporting the Palestinians and condemning Israel. White libs and Muslims make up the Orland community. The ex-mayor's wife is still getting harassed at her job as a teacher. That's how lefties roll.

It’s hard to erase the brainwashing and realize that the rot starts with the liberal social view

A red state. These new age liberals are some of the most uppity people I have ever experienced. The “we know better than you attitude” is why the Dem party is so bad right now and there isn’t a chance they are going to change their thinking.
I have experienced this firsthand. Once they realize that they cannot reshape their culture and government, they leave in anger and frustration. Florida isn't going to change anytime soon or distant, first and foremost because the policies are working. That's what the average voter cares about. You may have some insulated harbors for leftist moonbats in the state, and most red states do, but they remain outliers.
The other thing to do to ensure that you don't see a sea change is simple and something all of us can do: encourage young men to vote. The data seems to be clear on this. They have an unusually negative view of the Democratic Party, and I think the biggest reason is the stuff I've harped on here for the better part of a decade. The Dems somehow managed to become "The Man," and young men just naturally tend to hate "The Man."
"I'm the problem, but it got me thinking, you might be the reason." Morgan Wallen
Of his. Along with Luke Combs. Wallen is a good ol, TN boy who has pumped out hit after hit. Outside of the dumbass chair incident, he seems like a decent dude.
I saw Luke Combs at Bonnaroo and he was excellent live. But check out Marcus King too.
Here's a selection from Zach I am particularly fond of lately:

On concerts though.

We’ve seen him twice with his own show and once opening for Florida Georgia Line. He’s done multiple stupid things beyond the chair incident but still love his music.

They screen themselves off from other people. Hardly a way to grow your numbers, nevermind that the younger ones among that population aren't having kids.

It is a partisan outfit. It used census data and then speculated.
As did I. And since Florida is the biggest gainer, there might just be something to my hunch.
There are many new developments with single family houses being built in my county. These are not for retirees. Florida used to be for the retired crowd. Not anymore. Dumbass COVID rules in blue states pushed people here. The house next to me just sold. Single mom and her brother with 2 kids under 5 coming from the northeast.
Thank God Florida is solidly red with a common sense Governor. It’s going to attract young families and drive property value up.
