...from the attached article...
------------------
President Donald Trump's approval rating has plummeted with millennials, hitting its lowest level of the year in August, according to new polling.

According to YouGov/Economist polling, in June, 40 percent of millennials approved of Trump's job performance while 53 percent disapproved—a net rating of -13 points. That slid to 41-57 (-16) in July before plunging to 33-56 (-23) in August.

The figures show a 10-point drop in net approval in just two months, underscoring growing dissatisfaction among millennials as the 2025 political season intensifies.

-----------------------

Now, imagine being a Trump supporting GOP mid-term candidate...

They'll change... like always.

And they are not the majority.

true anymore. BTW, you lost the moral high ground in calling yourselves conservatives when you let Trump ruin your party. The fast you accept the less you come off looking like a hypocrite.

DOGE was mostly a bust and OBBB is a bloated pig.

Now, whoever was running the Biden Admin was not a classical liberal either. Maher has pointed this out repeatedly.

This all allows me to reiterate my main recurring point. These parties both suck.

Immigration - see Bill Clinton and Obama's policies
DEI - reversal of MLK Jr
Gender - reversal of Title IX protections for women
Defund the police - reversal of the rule of law
CoVid Policy - this was basically fascism

I didn’t say what ring wing media attributes to D leaders. Actually legislation moved forward.

There were a wave of EOs implementing DEI and Gender stuff.
CoVid Policy was a choice.

True because a third party would be immune from all the pathologies that afflict the other two

When people call for a third party, they imagine that it would not be affected by big money or beholden to special interests.

In reality, it would have to be funded like a startup, probably by a group of megadonors. Who would control it much more than anyone controls the other parties.

It would be even worse.

But go ahead and dream.

It's political science fiction. Allows people to live in alternate realities, because this reality is too messy.

According to Gallup 58% of U.S. adults believe a third major party is needed.

But who gives a damn what the citizenry wants?

They all think like you. They assume it will solve problems rather than create all new ones.

A third party would be more, not less, dependent on special interests.

It would not solve any problems. But you can go on imagining that it is the solution to everything, which allows you to pretend you are above all the partisan squabbling.
