I liked the approach but think it failed to deliver.
What did you think of Sirens, with your Red-headed Irish lass? I really liked it, it was kind of a masterpiece on the character development front and had great acting. John Steinbeck would approve, IMO.

Yes. Heavy, but strong work by Stephen Graham. Erin Doherty was superb.
Erin also starred with Stephen Graham in A Thousand Blows. [She also played Princess Anne in The Crown.] Very talented actress.
Sirens was OK. Not exactly my cup of tea.
