As a fallen away Democrat who twice voted for Bill Clinton, I'm not sure my faith can be restored.

If the left would push candidates like Manchin, they'd win the next 3 elections.

Manchin is a lot like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski - no backbone and more interested

in position rather than do the right thing. example - Manchin sided with Coal mining ownership over
his constituents. Weak and greedy, basically dishonest and loyal only to the players.
But I get what you're saying - we would do better with honest debate, integrity, and the most
important, a calling to leadership without ego. Marco Rubio could have been that but he's
a weak backboned, smarmy worm with a desire for celebrity who tried to come across as
the guy who could control the middle and speak both languages.

I agree with you on Rubio, though I may like him even less than you.

I've never trusted him. I believe he was quietly advocating for some regime change in South America (military-wise), and that turned me off for good.

Thread Level: 5

Yep, that's one of those things that me do a double take.

The Democratic Party is indeed a "Big Tent", including the Bernie Sanders contingent, yet National Candidates and Party Platforms are consistently Moderate. Bernie ran for President in 2020, but JB was selected, and before him, Obama and Clinton were Moderate choices with Moderate Platforms...albeit "Progressive" in that they moved the country ahead...for ALL Americans....Health Care (ACA)...Infrastructure...

Mamdani is running for Mayor of NYC, and as I've posted previously, a large majority of all Americans across the country favored his "Policies", when his name and DSP affiliation were not mentioned during poll questioning. Let's see if he wins...and more importantly...how he's able to meet the needs of that great city. If he's successful, then it bears learning from what he did and seeing what might be transferable to other jurisdictions.

If you agree with all the rest of what the author is championing, then relax and register as a Democrat once again.

Thread Level: 2

Yeah, vote republican because that's where the integrity of leadership is. Genius!

Your point is valid but the Dem's policy agenda seems far worse.

I'm not being nice on this because it is more than illogical to say something that stupid and expect
a civilized response.

yes, D policies are lacking but to make a comparison you'd have to know, there isn't one. What's
happening now with the re-election of the Orange nutjob was clearly seen what it would be
in his first go-round. And then his rhetoric through the Biden years who by the way did a
credible job. Not everything we could hope for, but a job well done. You're stuck in
devouring lies and bullshit as your choice of credibility.

You have access to credible information like no other time in your history and that's your post. It's amazing.

I respectfully disagree. The list of 80/20 issues against the Dems is thru the roof.

It's like the party is being run by academic loons.

You're thinking there's a comparison - there isn't one unless you like autocratic rule by a nutjob

or by anyone for that matter. Truly, fascism is what you're calling for.
No one said the D's are perfect - in fact they're quite lousy at times but
calling academic loons your issue means you haven't one foot in reality
today.

Too many of our academics are disconnected with the world of the average person.

are nonexistent.

Oh and it's obvious and sadly so - the average person in America is not connected to reality and we know this
by comments and views expressed by you, Lmanion, Elp, cole, baron, iggles, neddie and the other nutjobs here.

You speak the language of morons. And no, being that stupid doesn't deserve kindness. You didn't fall
down and make a boo-boo. You elected a criminal for a second term and this after he told what his
thoughts are and what he was going to do when elected again and you believed the obvious lies
crap. Just like now, Oh Charlie Kirk was a great guy who challenged and questioned, and he had
two children and a wife and believed in Christianity... Yeah, he was a hate monger, conspiracy nutjob, liar,
bully, bullshit artist and a white supremist. He promoted division, violence and more. He was a fringe
loudmouth given access to mainstream behavior as a tool which gave him some sort of credibility with
the Right.
That's the kind of moronship you jackasses own.

Yeah, the D's do themselves a disservice with their own nutties but they're not hoodlums and dictators.
What is happening outside our borders vis a vis Russia Ukraine and all of Europe, Gaza is of major
importance and we have djt greasing the rails of a major global shift in politics and economy.

We're fucked and you're worried about a few academics you don't like or agree with.

Just dumb

Agendas have long term consequences. Trump is a passing phenomenon.

And if djt is just a passing phenomenon then too would be and D elected but we know this isn't true
yet you posted it anyway.

Put on some big-boy pants and use your brain.
