Imagine people who celebrate the cold blooded assassination of another human being being intimately involved in the education of children.
If they caught 100, I'd bet there are over 10,000 just like them. I wish they could cull more.

Doing so would allow the party in power to lock up dissidents. Hence, the First Amendment allows hate speech .... so long as it does not cross the boundaries of criminality -- e.g., inciting imminent violence ("Hang Mike Pence!!") .... making a credible threat ... discriminatory harassment.
It's pretty simple. "Hate speech" = speech they hate.

Then there's his medical opinion that public masking during a pandemic is worthless, even when presenting evidence that contradicts his statements...the kind of thing that has gotten other physicians in this country in serious trouble with their Medical Boards.

I had this exact argument with someone about a local college administrator.
A friend announced on Facebook that while she hated what the administrator over the Office of Student Care and Conduct had posted, she felt that she didn't deserve to be fired over it. While I tend to avoid politics online, I argued with her that in this case, it was literally someone with responsibility for student safety and well-being on a college campus. And this individual announcing publicly that a victim of political violence on another college campus basically deserved it was grounds for immediate dismissal.
This isn't "dissent."
This is an expression of violent hatred towards those with different political and social views. And people who can't even contain this bile do not belong in positions responsible for the education of young students or the safety and care of others.
And I'll be clear: I'd feel the exact same way if a teacher or medical professional were publicly celebrating the same thing happening to any left-wing activist.
It's political speech
I don't endorse any of it, by the way. But it is the kind of speech that they ought to be free to make - and we are free to take opposing positions, and point out that political violence is never justifiable.
I know you don't endorse it. But it isn't political speech.
And regardless of how anyone packages it, it's a celebration of murder of an innocent human being. It's Free Speech, but businesses and organizations are free to disassociate themselves with people who embrace it.

The left has a lot of history in acting like this. I remember the 60's. They always think they know
what is better for us.
In general know very little about economics because they have never had to think about profit. They get tax free pensions in many states once they hit 55 or before after 30 years. So for example say they live to 80, that is 25 years of pension at 60% of their average three highest salary years in New York. If they work more than 30 years their pensions increase by 1.5%. So an average salary at $80,000 that is $48,000 a year for 25 years in my example for which there was no contribution by them. Also, tax free in New York. I have met and know of many teachers, especially those who were in high school with my daughter that could barely pass their courses and it is getting worse every year.
So many students then go into college and major in useless fields. What a waste!

But to your point, these firings weren't because of political dissent, they were because of clear mental unfitness to perform their duty as teachers.
And I fully agree with you that I support the firing of any teacher/doctor etc that celebrates murder as I also oppose their arrest for doing so. It's their choice, but that choice has consequences.
I do wish all of those around children in positions of authority and teaching who are this mentally unwell had revealed themselves.
They have the right to say whatever they want, even to celebrate an assassination.
Their employers have the right to fire them, too.

No parent should have to worry about that.
Don't try to take a stratospheric view of this to diminish the specific values that they demonstrate.
addendum: Their behavior also speaks against their mental well being which is another important factor when being around children/patients/elderly. Further, extending outward beyond the state, the private sector also has the right to decide who to allow to represent them and their brand.

Sadly, Pro-Lifers insist that every woman forced or coerced into a pregnancy she never wanted to
carry that pregnancy to term, regardless of the physical and mental threats to her future well being, or even very life. Given that there is no Religious or Biological rationale for this stance, it represents the hight of Injustice toward women.
