To be fair, had we had a competent coach and a program that was properly supported by the then-administration, we wouldn't have been either losing to them or playing nail-biters every year. So maybe I wouldn't have even noticed them.
But their fans parlayed the Drew Brees jackpot into delusions of grandeur and became insufferably unaware of their status as a program. Furthermore, they have a history of abusing the "text this number to report fan misbehavior" to get visiting fans yanked from the stadium.
They looked like soulless zombies. And that was before the game started.

Purdue scored 31 points in the second quarter, setting a record for the most points against Notre Dame in a single quarter

The worst loss in Purdue football history was the 66-7 defeat to Notre Dame on September 14, 2024, a 59-point margin that broke the previous record for the largest defeat by points and margin. This game was particularly shocking because it followed two weeks of preparation for the Boilermakers and a 49-0 win in their previous game.
It was a true referendum on Qwesty and shamed him for all eternity. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
