Latin music is the fastest-growing genre in the U.S. and Bad Bunny is its biggest star.

Yes... his politics are severely anti-ICE/anti-Trump and he flaunts this in his performances. But whether you know it or not Latin music -in Spanish -is NOW mainstream. That Bad Bunny has become mainstream is irrefutable, given he was the most streamed artist on Spotify for three years from 2020 to 2022, has the most streamed album in the history of Spotify (Un Verano Sin Ti).

Giving Bad Bunny the space to spotlight his culture and politics is a bold move for the NFL, But it is a choice that makes sense. The Super Bowl halftime show is about money and viewership. Bad Bunny has already brought in the cash and will most certainly bring in the viewers, even if they aren't all white and English speaking.

So MAGA fans... grin and bear it and pray Bad Bunny does not have a "wardrobe malfunction" since he's a big supporter of trans rights.

Can you imagine the halftime show for Super Bowl I, 1967?

James Brown, Hendrix, The Kinks, Tommy James & The Shondells, Sly and Family Stone, CCR. Take your pick. What a show. Granted, they're not Big Bunny but they're still pretty great.

You miss the point, which is to "add" fans to the event who would not otherwise turn it on.

If this increases ratings they can charge more for the ads.

Nothing the NFL does is bold anymore. It's all predictable. ROC Nation chooses the halftime shows .

That's an entertainment company founded by....wait for it.......Jay Z. It doesn't matter. I won't be watching. I barely watch the NFL now. Didn't even know who this guy was till very recently. I love all the old white dudes on TV now pretending they are hip to the scene. LOL.
