Of course California is the worst... and yet it never dawns on its residents that this might be due to OCD regulations and astronomical taxes.

It's why Trump 1.0 limited the SALT deduction. But people in those places are financially illiterate

I guess. Either that, or they have imposter syndrome and think their success is unfair because they are incompetent, so owe a government tithing to account for their luck and incompetence.

People who achieved success through hard work don't think that way.

Amen. They need to feel the results of their votes before they will ever change them.

America are finding out...read what former Mayor of San Jose and now Congressman for CA's 16th District, Sam Liccardo (D) has to say about those issues...(see link) You'll be hard pressed to find a MAGA leader assess...and take action to resolve...such situations.

btw, your frequent barbs at the state you used to reside in strike me as signs of regret...i.e. you "Protest Too Much" over what 'Could Have Been' had you stayed...just my opinion.

California is the American "Paradise Lost" and the original sin was the deification of government.

Perhaps this was inevitable given the severe overcrowding... but anyone who lived there in the 60s' and 70's knows that it was the finest place on earth to live in those days... AND that by comparison it has become a Dystopia.

If you prefer to rail against an emerging "Dystopia" focus your attention on DJT...as for CA, it has

tended to push the tolerance-band boundaries of government intervention, but not to the hyperbolic level you claim. Again, I refer you to more enlightened Democrats like Sam Liccardo who explains on his site how he, as SJ Mayor, cut back on regulations to allow more affordable housing...faster. Improvements can be made without placing one's trust in a Laissez-Faire "Market Based" strategy that pays no attention whatsoever to all the millions of "Little Guys"...the ones that only Government can actually help.

That dummy Pete Wilson screwed it up for everyone.
