I'm enjoying "Black Rabbit" on Netflix.

I'm midway through episode 6 of 8. While I've not finished it, it appears that this will be a standalone story (no additional "seasons" or anything like that).

Jude Law and Jason Bateman are excellent. I wasn't familiar with the rest of the cast, but they are all fantastic (in my opinion): Sope Dirisu, Cleopatra Coleman, Amaka Okafor, Robin de Jesus....all are terrific.

Bateman and Laura Linney are involved in directing different episodes, so it's unsurprising that it has a bit of an Ozark feel to it. Recommended, if you're looking for something to stream.

Bateman and Law were perfect for their roles. The female chef was amazing as well. Her character pissed me off, though. The plot flowed, too.

...it was interesting that there weren't a ton of "good guys" to cheer for, per se. I really found myself rooting for Wes midway through. Maybe Tony a bit.

But again, I just finished episode 6 so more to come.

I will get back to Black Rabbit soon.

Not sure what to make of Taboo - it has the guy I liked from Mobland. Tom Hardy, I believe. Not sure where it is going...

…one of my favorite downtown restaurants…The Bridge Cafe…which never could come back from Sandy. (Bridge Cafe was also one of Ed Koch's favorite restaurants and he would often lunch in a corner table there as Mayor.)

Location is about 10 blocks from a great Irish bar…The Dead Rabbit…so I see how the fictional restaurant name may have come into being.

For some reason, I thought the name was a derivative of Playboy magazine that they share a fascination with as kids. Maybe it's a nod to that bar you mention, instead.

…the series.

I’m just surmising how it might have came to be in the minds of the creative folks.

I am 3 episodes in, loving it so far and really intrigued where it is going.
