I look at my Cubs, then look at the Jays, & realize Cubbies have a ways to go. Pretty depressing.

...what will give you the best chance of success once there.

Of course having a pitcher or two at the very top of their game in October...can work wonders...and is not something that modeling can ensure in any way.
