Gambling, weed, assisted suicide, abortion. The only thing left is legalized prostitution. Insurance will love this because assisted suicide is cheaper than end of life care according to physicians in the Illinois legislature. . Is there a Catholic leadership in this forsaken state or are they still focused on protecting illegals? Where is the pope? He's from Chicago. He has something to say about everything but this he is quiet? It seems that this assisted suicide stuff is really a no confidence vote aimed at the medical community.

The U.S. is rather unusual in the amount we will spend at the end of life on people. Europe and Canada ration care as a means to keep spending down too.
Similar situation with premature births. In a lot of other countries they will let the kids die instead of spending $250K to keep them alive.
Bottom line is one of the best ways to keep total spending down is to provide less end of life care.
