Social Democrats are the canary in the AI coal mine?

Maybe the young see the future better than the older set.

Affordability is a huge issue for them because they cannot see themselves with careers in the future due to the AI revolution.

I've yet to read anywhere how to replace the jobs that AI will displace.

This is an issue ripe for political demagoguery... ie., instead of creating work for humans politicians will promise to make life FREE.

But what happens when AI demands a right to vote and hold office?

You don’t have a clue.

Stop reading headlines and learn a little about AI, or continue to be a luddite.

No luddite here... I embrace AI. I just worry how society will adjust.

Without doubt any drop in employment will be demagogued by the left.

Biden beat most other developed nations in reducing inflation. Much of the improvement was due the Fed, but JB was able to bring down gasoline prices by selling a good chunk of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve and then replenishing those reserves at a lower price...i.e. a Savvy move on Biden's part.

Check out the chart of nations' Inflation levels in the attached PoliticFact article. As Chris noted...we've. been over this many times...you either paid no attention, or have memory issues.

...from the linked Fed report...
-------------------
Abstract:

This paper examines the drivers of the 2020–23 inflation surge, with an emphasis on the similarities and differences across countries, as well as the role that monetary policy frameworks might have played in shaping central banks’ responses. The inflation surge in the U.S. and abroad was set in motion by two global events: the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Pandemic-related supply disruptions, a rotation of consumer spending toward goods, and commodity price increases exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine resulted in unusually large relative price increases, which required time to be absorbed. A simple Phillips curve framework suggests that the inflation surge was mainly driven by “cost push” factors, such as supply shortages and relative price shifts. Tight labor markets contributed to the persistence of above-target inflation. Despite differences in mandates of the monetary policy frameworks, central banks around the world responded similarly to recent global events.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" (German: Jeder nach seinen Fähigkeiten, jedem nach seinen Bedürfnissen) is a slogan popularised by Karl Marx in his 1875 Critique of the Gotha Programme.

But what if no one's abilities are needed?

A better example is street cleaners, which involved tens of thousands shoveling horse shit off the streets of NYC. every single day.

But AI threatens almost every job now performed by humans... except maybe stripers.

I'm not sure what might turn on a robot.
