I've lived in the A2 area for over 35 years. Moved here to work for Bechtel, the world's largest design/construction company. Went to U of M law after Bechtel left town following the Three Mile Island nuke industry collapse. Raised my Brazilian born kids here, both of whom are U of M grads but both of whom moved out of the country and have abandoned me to the Midwest (which I love despite growing up out West). The University has always been one of the finest in every field in the world. A2 has grown into a real cool town offering all the amenities and entertainment of a major city. It's a little pricey but not compared to the coasts. Yeh... it's classically woke but that's trendy in college towns. SOOOOOOO... what is it about the place that keeps generating one athletic SCANDAL after another?

The reason they waited until after the loss to OSU was because they still thought they had a shot at playoff money.

People here are in a bubble & it’s so insular and UM focused that it’s difficult to maintain an objective sense of right & wrong. Or at least that’s my take.
My son played sports with Regent Paul Brown’s kid and the degree to which that guy uses his UM affiliation to bully people is shameless. And from what my wife says - she works there - that’s pretty common. Does that stuff happen at ND? Probably to a lesser degree. But when people refer to “Michigan Man”, I just think: that place is poised for a fall.
