So, here's what the people of Illinois have voted for by their own free will. Abortion on demand , courtesy of taxpayers for legal citizens, illegals, out of state residents, no questions asked. It's part of the Illinois tourism incentive. Get your late term today, visit Great America tomorrow. Gambling, legalized weed, and the recently enacted "Aid-In-Dying" law. Next up, legalized prostitution. Of course, the Catholic Archdiocese has nothing to say about any of it.
of "Engaged Neutrality" when it comes to the issue of 'Physician Assisted Dying'...(read their linked statement).
It also bears noting that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)...(Baron's Specialty Organization)...strongly supports the right of women to choose the option of abortion.
i.e. while your position on these issues is certainly understandable, there are others of equal moral standing who disagree with you. Consequently, you should use Critical Thinking and Prudential Judgement to appreciate why those differences exist, and use it to find Common Ground.

Who's to say that what our elites deem to be normal won't be condemned as barbaric in the future?

what "Prudential Judgement" is all about....e.g. the RCC's Catechism paragraph on acceptance of KILLING in a "Just War".

From the CBC article linked below:
"Currently there is no Saskatchewan surgeon able to perform the operation.
"Van Alstine said she must be referred out of province, but she can’t obtain a referral without first being seen by an endocrinologist — and none of them are accepting new patients.
"Van Alstine said the pain has become so unbearable that she has applied and been approved for MAID on Jan. 7."

Glenn Beck heard about her case and has offered to pay for her travel and treatment in the US. We'll see if she can get here or not.

Any class that are not considered contributors will be on the list. Those who serve no value to the Dems. Those that are a strain on the bottom line. Those who slipped through the cracks of abortion. That's the future of this law. Remember when it was only about civil unions for health insurance reasons? The late great Rush Limbaugh said at the time that the left will never stop there.
You sniffed it out. You're not a complete moron, no matter what all the people you know say.
It's no mystery. Even you know how it's done. Did I not bring up civil unions and how it has blossomed into your fetishes of men in girls bathrooms and "gender affirming care" for children? How about abortion only in the case of incest and rape? You really can't be this dense.

When that is pointed out to them, they deny that the slippery slope exists, as if they will refuse to take successive compromises to get to their end goal.
Don't you at least wonder what Soylent Green tastes like, even a little?
I wasn't really commenting on ELP's post. I was just commenting on the slippery slope argument in the abstract. It is admittedly often labeled a logical fallacy. And yet, accounting for societal momentum is still a valid consideration in the real world. A wall is built brick by brick, and some people don't know when to stop stacking bricks. That is how nations fall...incremental debt, or incremental societal rot, or other incremental processes.
For example, if Trump reschedules cannabis, then before you know it fentanyl and heroin will be legal. Completely unhelpful.
